Story

One day, William receives a message from his grandfather, calling him deep into the woods to watch over his hut while he takes care of some "important matters."

When you arrive, everything seems peaceful, nothing dangerous is in sight. But as you settle in, it becomes clear that your grandfather is hiding something... something you’re not meant to uncover.

Still, it’s your grandfather, after all. Why would he ever put you in mortal danger? Everything’s going to be just fine. So, relax, take your time, and progress through the game without a care. It’s not like anything supernatural is going to happen... Probably.

From the Author

Hey! It’s me, the author! I just wanted to give you heads-up and share my thoughts here a little bit.

This is my first serious project, and I’ve poured a lot of effort into making it the best it can be. I’ve been working on it for quite a while, and I really hope you’ll enjoy the experience!

The game is completely free, so feel free to check it out—no payment required. Honestly, I will be happy just if people will play and enjoy it, and of course if you are willing to support the game, I will greatly appreciate it.

Also if you want to read a little bit more about the development process, feel free to check out my development log about this.

Yep, that’s all. Thanks for reading, and have fun! Byeee! :D

Well game is good gameplay is kind of boring but overall i like it even though controls are a little bit bad but its okay cause it is a first serious project.

I guess the controls might have actually been better.

Your feedback is nice, thanks!

The best thing I can say about the game is how unique the environment looks and how the monster is superbly made, but the rest - I'm very disappointed.

I've read the page's content and the development log. As a game developer, I understand the hardships of making a decent game and I can relate to making a first big project and just because of that, it's not very bad. Although, it has massive issues.

To start with, the main interaction in the game is needlessly complicated. Sometimes, a simple "click to object" or "press a certain button" is enough to have a great experience with the game. This entire click to grab and then press E to obtain was awful, it truly made the game unplayable and at times broke the immersion. Especially, during the altar sequence, where you have to put the candles, the matches and the plate with meat on it. While playing and then encountering the monster (which is very fast) I could imagine this game being simple and more effective, but like I said, it left me a bit frustrated. Another little thing to mention is the sound design - it's good, but the ambience loop was very noticeable.

Overall, not bad for the first big project, but I do encourage you to try and make the next project a bit more simple.
Best of luck.

Thanks for the feedback, it was nice and constructive!

The thing about which you are right is 100% that next project should be more simple :P

At the end I have started to realize that while making big projects you don't really get enough time to practice coding and other important stuff, so my skills didn't really grow up.

But hey, that's so nice of you that you played the game and read the development log and after that even left a feedback, thank you!!

make version zip or rar?

I can't believe that I actually forgot to make a .zip file :P

Thank you for for the reminder
